Overview: Conflict Transformation – Core
Welcome to our Core module on Conflict Transformation! In this module, we will discuss the layers present in human conflicts, some of which may be more visible at any given time than others. When we are embroiled in conflict, we may consider the layer that is most obvious to be the focus of the issue, which can obscure the deeper layers, leading to lack of understanding and disconnection with others. Therefore, by learning to identify these components of any given conflict, we can begin to address conflicts more holistically and perhaps even transform them for the better.
In this Module, you will read assigned materials, watch a short video, and discuss with the other students in the online forum.
The following mini lectures and videos will help you better understand the specific layers of conflict, what tends to escalate conflict, and how we might more constructively address conflicts moving forward.
