Overview: Deeper Dive into Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Welcome to our extension module on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)!

In the Introduction to DEI module, we considered several ways to define and understand the term diversity. We also considered a variety of dimensions to the concept of diversity.

In the core module, we explored resources at our own institutions that can support inclusive teaching. We discovered a checklist that was developed by the ROCKET project for helping teachers evaluate the level of inclusivity in their teaching. We also considered notions of fairness in relation to inclusive assessment.

This extension module offers further insight and resources by diving deeper into the concept of inclusive pedagogy. This material is adapted with permission from the Comenius Leadership Fellow project Creating value of student diversity through logistical innovations, led by Prof. dr. Jan Riezebos at the University of Groningen.

In sum, we hope to provide you with various tools on how to make your teaching more inclusive, especially in a Critical Virtual Exchange context. Therefore, we will guide you through the following exercises and materials:
