How the Trainings went

For students, ROCKET combines courses from distinct interdisciplinary domains in three different ENLIGHT universities, connecting in a vibrant Virtual Exchange. Students will learn theories and practice skills in conflict transformation and nonviolent communication through engaging activities such as Role-playing Games. These skills will infuse student lives within and outside of the classroom, affecting their daily interactions, deepening their understanding of the struggles of others, and increasing their sense of responsibility as global citizens.

This course deeply transformed the way I see the world. Even though I initially believed that my perspective could not change, I came to understand the richness and diversity we embody as representatives of our individual cultures, for which I am extremely grateful.

I think the role-playing sessions were very helpful to structurally analyze conflicts. Both role-playing myself and watching other people role-play helped me try out all the methods we learned in this course. With the role-playing I had a little bit of an emotional distance to the conflict and was therefore able to actually think about the methods we learned. I want to implement this in my real life as well. In the role-playing we had different characters with very different perspectives and conflict styles, which is more likely to happen in an heterogeneous team.

For teachers, ROCKET develops innovative VE trainings for lecturers by integrating the engaging learning activities developed for students. The training is aimed at lecturers of any discipline in the consortium and across ENLIGHT. It will be piloted with lecturers from the consortium universities and implemented more widely in the next iterations. The training will be delivered online through VE, following an experiential, co-laboratory learning model. Digital badges will be awarded to participants upon successful completion. The finalized materials will be made available to the community at large as reusable, downloadable resources which can be used by professional development trainers, lecturers and students in teaching and learning (including self-study).

Just completed the E+ ROCKET Teacher Training (Core) — a truly refreshing and transformative learning experience!
Over the past weeks, I had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic Virtual Exchange with educators from different universities, exploring Critical Virtual Exchange, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, conflict transformation, and the power of role-playing methods in teaching.
The programme offered practical tools, creative methods, and meaningful reflections that I can already see enriching my own teaching practice. I highly recommend this training to anyone in academia looking to rethink, refresh, and elevate their approach to inclusive and collaborative learning. Now could be ready to share with others :).
Grateful to Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Rocket Cooperation Partnership (Erasmus+) team for such a valuable experience.

For admin staff, ROCKET brings together administrative staff members from three different universities in the ENLIGHT network. They will learn theories and practice skills in conflict transformation and nonviolent communication. Through role-playing and other engaging activities, staff members will share best practices, experiences, and challenges within and across institutions. The strengthening of socioemotional skills and the development of support networks across Europe will benefit the university far beyond these trainings, as staff members will be better equipped to handle conflict situations with compassion, care, and a win-win orientation.
