On the page Training Resources, you can download the three courses: Student Training, Admin Staff Training and Teacher Traing. These courses were released as a so-called IMS Common Cartridge. On this page you can read how to install the cartridge.
What is IMS Common Cartridge?
Common Cartridge (CC) is a set of open standards developed by the IMS member community that enable interoperability between content and systems. Common Cartridge provide a standard way to represent digital course materials for use in online learning systems so that such content can be developed in one format and used across a wide variety of learning systems. This means that you can install the ROCKET Training modules in your own learning system, provided that it supports IMS Common Cartridge. Many learning systems do.
How was the Common Cartridge created?
Each of the three Common Cartridges was created in Studium, the Canvas Learning Management System of Uppsala University, one of the project partners. The cartridges are built according to the Common Cartridge version 1.1 standard.
How can I get the Common Cartridge?
You can download it on the Training Resources page.
How do install the Common Cartridge?
To learn how to import the Common Cartridge, please consult the documentation of the learning management system that you will be using. We have linked to the online documentation of a number of well-known products.
Do I need to know more?
It is not guaranteed that all of the content of the Training modules will be correctly imported. This depends on the learning management system. However, we tested the import in Blackboard Ultra and Brightspace and all content was imported without errors or missing items. Activities like discussion forums were also created using the corresponding course element.
You will have to adapt the content to your own context, though. This aplies e.g. to the information about the people providing the training, schedules, links to online sessions etc. All information that we think you should add to the courses is displayed with a yellow background, so they easliy be identified.
The courses are published with a CC-BY-NC licence. This means that you are free (and encouraged) to adapt the content to your own specific needs,a s long as you mention the ROCKET project as the authors of the content. Commercial re-use is not permitted.
